Islander

Islander Yachts is a sailboat builder with a rich history that dates back to the 1950s, and its boats were known for their excellent sailing performance, solid construction, and affordable prices. In the 1960s and 1970s, Islander Yachts was one of the largest sailboat manufacturers in the United States, producing a range of boats from small daysailers to larger cruising yachts.

One of Islander's most successful models was the Islander 36, a sloop-rigged cruiser that was in production for over a decade and became a classic of its era. Another popular model was the Islander 28, which was designed as a family cruiser and had a roomy interior for its size.

In the 1980s, Islander Yachts faced financial difficulties, and the company was sold to a new owner. Production of new boats continued until the early 1990s, when the company ceased operations.

Despite the fact that Islander Yachts is no longer in production, many of its boats remain popular among sailors and can be found on the used boat market. Islander's reputation for quality construction and good sailing performance has endured, and the company's boats are still regarded as excellent choices for cruising and racing.
